In September, Apple released the initial version of iOS 16. iOS is the most significant OS update because iPhone is Apple’s largest and most important platform and its users’ preferred operating system. After the iOS 15 impressive update, many new features were anticipated to be added, and iOS 16 did not disappoint. Apple has been overhauling one feature in its yearly iOS upgrades while making minor changes to every other feature for the previous couple of years. Last year the focus was on “The Focus”. The year before that, it was the home screen and now this year, the main attention is to the lock screen. Additionally, Apple has improved the lock screen‘s integration with the iOS 15 Focus modes. Moreover, it has set the stage for something other than notifications to be displayed on your phone prior to unlocking it by third-party apps.
We reveal all there is to know about new features of iOS 16. As Apple continues to work on the new software, we discuss new features, improvements to the user interface, the release date, and how to obtain beta versions of it.
Features of Latest iOS 16:
Redesign of the lock screen
Make your iPhone unique with brand-new ways to customize the Lock Screen. Highlight favorite images, alter font styles, and put up a few widgets to access information quickly. Now, you can easily switch between various Lock Screens, each with a different background and aesthetic. For ideas, peruse a gallery of wallpapers with suggested images and themed collections.
Updated Home app
The Home app has been completely redesigned to be even more effective and dependable. Utilize the newly designed Home Tab to navigate all of your smart home accessories. You can now access the necessary accessories with just a tap thanks to new sections for climate, lights, security, and more. Additionally, a multi camera view places your smart home cameras in the spotlight.
Easily set up a Focus
A new streamlined setup for Focus lets you select the apps and people you want to receive notifications from by either allowing them or silencing them. Connect your Lock Screen to your Focus so the look and feel of your iPhone match how you want to use it at the moment. With a swipe, you can go from your Personal Focus to your Work Focus with widgets showing upcoming meetings and to-do lists.
Smart ways to share Photos
When you set up or join a Shared Photo Library, you can choose to contribute past photos based on a start date or the people in the photos. Once the shared library is set up, you can share photos instantly right from Camera, choose to share automatically when other shared library members are nearby, and get smart suggestions for adding photos to the shared library for you.
Everyday messaging enhanced
You can now edit a message you just sent or unsend a recent message altogether. And you can mark a message as unread if you can’t respond in the moment and want to come back to it later.
Use Dictation and the keyboard together
Move seamlessly between voice and touch to enter text. Type with the keyboard, tap in the text field, move the cursor, and insert QuickType suggestions, all without needing to stop Dictation.
Transit cards and fares in Maps
Add new transit cards to Wallet, check low balances, replenish your card, and see the total cost of your trip, all without leaving Maps.
Manage child accounts with ease
Easily create accounts for children with the right parental controls, right from the start. Set your preferences for age-appropriate media, Screen Time, location sharing, and more. Screen Time requests from your kids now appear in Messages, so it’s easy to approve or decline a request.
Safety Check helps people in domestic or intimate partner violence situations review and reset the access they’ve granted others. Check resets system privacy permissions for apps and restricts Messages and FaceTime to the device on hand.
